SugarCRM Inc. buys iExtensions CRM.

Posted on 27-Apr-2012. by Mark Creasey

Today iEnterprises and SugarCRM Inc have signed a definitive agreement for the sale of the iExtensions CRM solution to SugarCRM Inc.  This sale comes after a long and successful working relationship between the two technology partners.

iEnterprises continues as a company focused on mobile technologies with the Mobile Edge product line.

The purchase of iExtensions by SugarCRM Inc. will provide them with a first class integrated offline capability for their solution.  They chose iExtensions because its award-winning technology was the best fit for their requirements. iExtensions CRM will continue to exist as a stand alone Lotus Notes-based solution, however all future iExtensions product development will be managed by the SugarCRM development team.  This is great news for all iExtensions customers, the development team on the product will grow considerably, some of the best CRM experts in the industry will focus on iExtensions and all the advantages of being part of a large established organisation can be brought to bear.

iEnterprises will remain as sole distributor for iExtensions throughout the UK and the United States and the areas of the world where there is not an existing reseller, so providing business as usual for all of our existing customers in those territories. We will also continue to provide full support in those regions.  For customers who have purchased iExtensions CRM through one of our existing resellers there will be no change, existing resellers will retain the right to sell iExtensions and all support and maintenance offered through them will continue as usual.

Sugar CRM Inc has also signed an OEM agreement with iEnterprises to sell Mobile Edge for Sugar CRM and our Lotus Notes Connector for SugarCRM.  This agreement provides them with the opportunity to sell these products to any new and existing customers using Sugar CRM, however the development and future direction of both Mobile Edge and our Connector will remain with iEnterprises.

In addition, iEnterprises new business partnership with SugarCRM will allow us to also offer the complete SugarCRM product line, including Mobile Edge for Sugar, to our current and future customers.  So both companies will benefit from expanded product lines, stronger engineering and product management teams, and broader global reach for our customers.

I also want tell you about two other important changes that are taking place. Firstly John Carini our current CEO will join the Senior Management Team of Sugar CRM where he will be in charge of the development and direction of the iExtensions product line, thus ensuring a seamless transition and continuity for its future direction.  As a result I am delighted to let you know that I will take over the role of CEO at iEnterprises with immediate effect.  I am very excited about this opportunity and am fully committed to the future development of the complete iEnterprises product suite.
