iEnterprises Uses IBM Technology to Deliver Multi-Lingual CRM Solution
Lotus Domino 6 Features Enable iExtensions for Notes To Present
eCRM in Customers' Preferred Language
Murray Hill, NJ — iEnterprises, Inc. announced
the launch of iExtensions for Notes version 6 today. The newest release
of the company's award-winning CRM application extends the functionality
of IBM Lotus Domino 6, adding powerful new features and multilingual functionality.
iExtensions for Notes is an award-winning
Lotus Notes-based CRM solution that leverages Lotus Domino to manage contacts,
projects, products, documents, events, sales pipeline and more. With hundreds
of configurable features and industry-specific interfaces, iExtensions
for Notes empowers organizations to quickly deploy a solution tailored
to the organization's needs. Its easy-to-use interface and features
help to produce immediate results and rapid return on investment.
Thanks to new features in Lotus Notes and
Domino 6, iExtensions for Notes has the unique ability to be displayed
in any language. For the end user, translation is transparent. Once
the user's language is detected, it's matched with the appropriate stored
translation of all of the text and labels that appear throughout the solution
on forms, documents, menus and prompts. Caching translated text on
the user's system along with performance optimizations in Domino 6 net
forms and documents that open and display quickly.
For multinational organizations, this offers
tremendous advantages. First, because the translation is calculated
on the fly, only a single code-base is required. System administrators
will only have to install and configure the application on a single server.
The configured databases can then be replicated to other servers,
taking advantage of Domino's superior replication features. This
significantly reduces the effort, and therefore the cost, to implement
the solution. Upgrades can be handled in the same fashion; and by
relying on replication to deliver the solution updates, IT managers can
be confident that the same version is in use enterprise-wide. This
aids in minimizing conflicts and alleviating incompatibility issues, as
well as facilitating end-user support. For these reasons, the total
cost of ownership (TCO) of the solution is appreciably lower than other
CRM solutions that require a separate design for each supported language.
TCO is also substantially lower when customizations
are needed. Customizations need not be developed or maintained independently
for each language. Like configuration preferences, the single code
base allows customizations to be executed once. As the system matures
and is tailored to fit the organization's business processes, modifications
are easily managed because there is only one place to make changes.
"iEnterprises' iExtensions for Notes
is proof positive that our partner community consistently provides solutions
and services that leverage the full strength of IBM Lotus software technology,"
said Ken Bisconti, Vice President, Messaging Solutions, IBM Lotus Software.
"By adding CRM functionality to Lotus Domino, iExtensions should help
facilitate customers upgrading to Notes and Domino 6, while lowering TCO."
The introduction of these new multilingual
features offers significant benefit to even English-speaking organizations,
insofar as these features now allow every label in the entire solution
to be configured through the settings database. This can result in
greater end-user acceptance, because the solution can be effortlessly tailored
to use the nomenclature that employees are already accustom to using. As
such, any field label can be easily configured to use the vernacular that
is specific to a particular company or industry. In many cases, this
also provides an alternative to costly custom development.
"Innovations in Domino 6 have made
the impossible possible. The multilingual functionality we developed
is just the tip of the iceberg," says John Carini, Chief Software
Architect at iEnterprises. "Our new database connector wizard,
selectable categories for embedded views, Sametime and Quickplace integration,
view creation wizard and a host of other new features are all possible
because of the underlying new features of Domino 6. There is no question
that iEnterprises customers will benefit greatly from upgrading."
